Fishing
Seasons
The world famous Lake Ontario offers some of the best fishing for Trout and Salmon in the world. For us the fishing season begins, on the water, right around April 1st. At this time of year Lake
Ontario fishing reports begin rolling in from all across the lake. This early in
the season, we concentrate our efforts on the warm water close to shore. We fish
the shallow water thermal bar which is created from the tributaries dumping warm water into the lake. Our focus is on catching hungry browns, with a few
steelhead in the mix, and with the possibility of a spring king catching “you”
by surprise. In May and June, as the water temperature increases and the lake begins it's transition phase, we move a
little more offshore and enjoy increasing catches of kings, cohos, and
steelhead. In the summer months of July and August, with a thermalcline
established, our main target becomes king salmon but the offshore steelhead
fishing can be equally exciting. As September arrives we target large mature
salmon beginning to stage for their spawning run and can be found very close to
port in shallow water. The offshore fishing this time of year remains very consistent with
catches of both trout and juvenile salmon. Whether we're dragging the boards on the beach
looking for those football browns, lighting the riggers up on a hot coho bite,
flatlining sticks offshore for steelies, or experiencing a king screaming on
a wire diver rod, we will always give 110% to put you on the fish. The time to book your trip is now!
